Apple has started to certify components for the iPad 3, and many Taiwan-based makers are involved. Some of the component makers have already received certification and started production, such as Radiant Opto-Electronics with their LED backlight units. There are rumors circulating that the iPad 3 will have AMOLED panels, as Apple has been talking to Samsung about the matter. Component makers are speculating a 2012 release date for the iPad 3.
