The book starts with a lie about how the kid was adopted (illegally in Las Vegas but its documented to have been done legally in New York), and ends with a lie about the last will (the book was written before Joan died and Joan knew about it because she had lots of friends who kept her informed and thats why the brat was cut out of the will).
