The Nikon D5100 is a solid camera with excellent image and video quality, but comparatively slow performance tarnishes its appeal for me. Nikon fixes that in the D5200 using the same brand-new autofocus and metering techniques that debuted in the D600, plus an up-to-date larger-end viewfinder, and the result is really a clearly better shooting experience that causes it to be a fantastic choice for several-around family and holiday photography.
