The Nikon D5100 is just a solid camera with excellent picture and video quality, but relatively sluggish performance tarnishes its draw for me. Nikon fixes that within the D5200 using the same new autofocus and metering techniques that debuted in the D600, plus an updated larger-end viewfinder, and the result is really a significantly better shooting experience that causes it to be a fantastic choice for all-around family and holiday photography.
