The two are rather in heaven together, even with a war going on. Marriage in this world is more of a political union rather than of love (unlike Robb and Talisa's marriage) and many family members are forced suck up their pride, disgust and apprehension in order to achieve a political path for their family. It's a day of dreadful union and a reminder that there will be even more to come in the near future.
