The pustule shown is a "whitehead", and generally cannot scar. The pimples that scar are from what are called a "sebaceous cyst", which continue to build beneath the skin and eventually destroy the sebaceous gland and the hair root by scarring. Sebaceous cysts are common on the face, neck, and trunk.
